Why choose BIKEmpowered? With 28 years of experience and more than one national award for my bicycle–related work; I will quickly, thoroughly and affordably give you the bike services and skills you want.

Pick from these BIKEmpowered services:

  • Repairs. Does your ride give you odd noises? Sketchy shifting or braking? Wheels not staying straight? I can spot your bike’s needs right away. My costs are reasonable - a typical tune up costs $40 plus parts. I show you the need, give honest, clear advice – then do what you ask me to do. Simple as that. Want to learn how, even do parts of the repair? I will teach you. Click on this Repair Services link to get my help.

  • Fit your ride for comfort and performance. With a brief talk about your riding goals and where and when you hurt, I will design for you a short list of parts (so your body feels right, not wrong anymore) and riding position coaching that will make it fun to ride again. Remember - comfort while riding is both safer and will have you riding more – and that’s what we both want.

  • Learn the skills you want. Classes are designed for people 8 and older, and of all abilities. Skills you can learn include tune ups, wheel truing, wheel building, handling, trip planning and motivation. Classes fill quickly, so stop by this classes link to see the dates, how many “seats” are still open and full class descriptions.

Here are a few testimonials I have received:
Brian is a great teacher. By the end of his 8 hour repair class, I had the tools and knowledge to not only keep my bike in top shape, but I fixed all the family bikes too. Richard L.

I asked Brian to stop by and look at my bike. He found many things other mechanics had overlooked, gave me a “should do” and a “could do” list based on my riding interests and budget. Then he fixed it right on the spot, installing new thinner tires and fenders. Brian is honest, convenient, thorough and affordable. I’ve been telling my friends about him ever since. Elizabeth T.

Aside from the forms found at each class, you can reach me either on my cell - 503-975-2391 or by email.

Thank you for choosing BIKEmpowered, where we “Spin our wheels for good”,

Brian Lacy, your BIKEmpowered mechanic and instructor.
